Ai Cherie Chan was born in Los Angeles, CA to Chinese parents with French heritage. This diverse cultural background has enabled Cherie to utilize her heritage to raise awareness about the Asian-American community and break stereotypes.

 To overcome her difficult childhood, Cherie wrote music and poetry.  She knew at the age of three that she wanted to become a singer, and perform.  Cherie was passionate about music and wanted to make a difference through her lyrics.  However, coming from strict upbringings, Cherie was always taught to put education first, graduate college, and attend Medical school. After graduating with a B.S. in Biology, Cherie instead followed her heart’s passion: music. Then an opportunity came along and she decided to take the plunge into professional acting and singing.

With little experience in the industry, Cherie turned down a role in a scene from "The Fast and the Furious : Tokyo Drift" that contradicted her principles.  Maintaining her integrity, Cherie explained to the casting director that the majority of roles currently offered to Asian females in Hollywood adhere to the submissive, exotic stereotype and not wanting to further that stereotype, she could not take the role.  Seeing Cherie maintain her integrity, the casting director created a new role for Cherie that was in line with what she stood for.

 After working on Fast and Furious 3, Cherie was cast in the hit TV show, “Entourage” and in various commercials for companies such as Suntory and Ovaltine for the Asian market. Within less than a year of experience in Hollywood, Cherie has achieved the distinguished status of being in the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG).  Acting opened new doors within the industry and gave Cherie the opportunity to pursue her dream of becoming a singer.

 Cherie is currently pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a singer, with international producers supporting her career.  She began writing songs at a young age, with the personal knowledge that music can uplift the spirit and be a catharsis in difficult emotional times.  A self-described optimist, Cherie hopes this opportunity will enable her to successfully pursue her dreams of being a voice for girls all over the world. 

 Cherie is grateful for every experience and opportunity that has happened to her. Good or bad, she takes it all in as a character builder, living each day to love, laugh and learn.
